Job summary

Novanta Inc. is seeking an Assembler I to join its production team. You will assemble products according to specifications, ensure quality control standards are met, and support efficient, accurate manufacturing processes.

The role requires reading work instructions, BOMs and drawings, using hand tools, and following safety and cleanliness standards to deliver reliable components for critical applications.

  • Operate pass/fail test equipment (ALTF, PD Test, etc.).
  • Maintain cleanliness and workstation SS standards.
  • Follow site requirements for disposal of recyclable materials and hazardous waste.

Summary

As an Assembler I, you will be responsible for assembling products according to specifications. You will also need to ensure that the quality control standards are met.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Able to read, understand, and adhere to work instructions, BOMs, and assembly drawings
  • Usage of hand tools properly and safely
  • Mechanical assembly of products within acceptable quality and output levels
  • Inspect product and properly identify non‑conformance
  • Properly operate pass/fail test equipment (ALTF, PD Test, etc.)
  • Cleanliness and workstation clean up through SS standards
  • Follow site requirements for disposal of recyclable materials and hazardous waste
Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies
  • Team player with strong computer, written, verbal and skills
  • Previous experience with opto‑electronics and PCB commodities
  • Working experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma environments
  • Basic knowledge and practice of ESD and 5S principles
  • Safety and chemical awareness

  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift boxes up to 25 pounds
