Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks an Instrumentation Specialist to support the operation and maintenance of wastewater instrumentation across the five boroughs. You will perform inspections, calibrations, and routine preventive maintenance on PLC-based controls and related instrumentation in treatment facilities.

The role requires an associate degree in electrical construction and instrumentation or equivalent, plus relevant experience; a NY driver license is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with related experience in electronic instrumentation and control systems.
• One year of full-time experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and control systems including microprocessors.
• Driver license required in New York State; may be needed for site travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspections of instrumentation metering equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Install, repair, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot PLC controls and wastewater instrumentation.
• Dismantle and reassemble equipment for maintenance; set up wastewater instruments.
• Ensure compliance with city-wide rules and safety policies.
