Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to test, calibrate, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair instrument devices across our industrial facilities. You will read manuals, schematics and testing specs, with knowledge of PLCs and electrical diagrams being highly beneficial.

The role emphasizes preventive and corrective maintenance, root-cause analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Strong document control and SOP development are expected.

Qualifications

• Advanced electro mechanical knowledge.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Understanding of manufacturing systems and controls.
• Familiar with PLCs and electrical schematics.
• Proficient with SAP/CMMS and Microsoft Office tools.
• Willingness to work flexible hours.
• Knowledge of relevant code regulations.
• Ability to work independently within objectives.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot instrumentation equipment issues and identify solutions.
• Perform preventive, corrective and condition-based maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with safety/regulatory standards.
• Provide root cause analysis for recurring failures.
• Support commissioning and startup of new instrumentation equipment.
• Coordinate with other departments on maintenance planning.
• Mentor junior technicians and document work.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and calibrations.
