Job summary

Calspan’s Automotive Crash Facility in Buffalo, NY seeks an Instrumentation Technician to support and improve state-of-the-art test systems. You will set up equipment, route cables, solder, and perform test checkouts before, during, and after tests, while maintaining documentation and providing data guidance.

Collaborate with a team on diverse crash-testing projects for global automakers. The role emphasizes hands-on instrumentation work, with opportunities to contribute to test procedures,

Qualifications

• 3+ years in related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• AAS or Bachelors in related discipline.
• Read and understand engineering plans and specifications.
• Troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Performing set-up and installation of equipment, instrumentation, cable routing, soldering, and checkout before, during, and after the test.
• Support the maintenance, installation, and repair of test equipment to maximize operational availability.
• Document test procedures and installations. Provide guidance with data calculation when applicable.
• Understand OEM test request for upcoming test instrumentation required for test article. Assemble instrumentation required and make placards for test article
