Job summary

Town of Clayton seeks an Instrumentation Control Pump Technician Supervisor for the Water Resources Department. The role oversees pump and instrumentation technicians and maintains lift stations and the Water Reclamation Facility’s systems in Clayton, NC.

The position involves on-call duties, preventive maintenance, and coordination with contractors to ensure reliable water and wastewater operations. Requires strong electrical/electronic skills and supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Vocational or Technical Electrical or Electronic field of study preferred.
• Licensure or Certification preferred; Collections 2 or Grade 2 WW Biological & Grade 2 Maintenance Tech may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical and electronic circuit boards, telemetry systems, and related equipment in water/wastewater systems.
• Supervises pump & instrumentation technicians and assists maintenance staff; on-call and call back when needed.
• Performs preventive maintenance and tests equipment on a regular schedule; coordinates with outside contractors.
