Job summary

Town of Clayton is hiring an Instrumentation Control / Pump Technician (Preventative Maintenance) for the Water Resource Department at 653 Veterans Pkwy, Clayton, NC. The role involves troubleshooting pumps, controls, and SCADA systems, and performing routine maintenance to prevent failures.

A high school diploma or GED is required, with electrical certification preferred. Candidates must hold a valid NC Class A CDL and will pursue Grade 1 Maintenance Technologist and CS1 certifications within

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; electrical certificate preferred.
• Experience in electrical troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.
• Ability to read schematics and blueprints; maintain records.
• Must possess NC Class A CDL license; willing to obtain certifications within 12 months.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to work on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, controls, and SCADA components.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on wastewater systems.
• Operate meters and electrical test equipment; maintain records.
• Work on-call and assist in pump station maintenance as needed.
• Read schematics and install/repair instrumentation and telemetry.
