Job summary

Gulf Interstate Engineering is seeking a Senior Instrumentation Engineer to join our Houston, TX team. Lead instrumentation design on mid-sized projects, review P&IDs and PFDs, and guide junior staff to ensure quality outcomes.

You will coordinate with clients and vendors, perform calculations, and ensure compliance with oil & gas standards. This role requires 5–10 years of experience and strong communication skills. Excellent understanding of safety systems and control architectures is expected.

Qualifications

• Typically 5–10 years of proven experience in oil and gas.
• Familiar with oil and gas industry standards and codes.
• Knowledge of computer systems in an engineering environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead instrumentation engineering on smaller projects and guide junior staff.
• Prepare or review discipline specifications and requisitions.
• Perform engineering calculations and analysis as required by the discipline.
• Review and provide inputs to P&IDs and PFDs.
• Coordinate with client personnel relative to Instrumentation & Control activities.
• Review and approve vendor documents.
