Job summary

Carotek, a SunSource company, seeks an energetic Inside Sales team member in North Chesterfield, VA. You will support outside sales, work with Instrumentation product lines, and provide technical quotes and guidance to customers.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in-office. A two-year degree or 2–4 years of related experience is required, with strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and proficiency in MS Office and related software.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; bachelor's preferred.
• Two to four years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding service to customers and support to outside sales staff.
• Work primarily with Instrumentation Product lines.
• Answer telephone calls or respond to customer correspondence regarding technical questions on products or systems.
• Engage in technical discussions to identify correct product and advise on substitution or modification when needed.
• Select and specify products based on customer application and design prerequisites.
• Consult with service technicians, service managers or manufacturers to resolve unusual or complex technical problems or refer highly complex problems to Applications Specialist or Manager.
• Supply detailed product quotations by computing price, discount and shipping charges as required and within company guidelines.
• Inform customer of pricing, back orders, delivery delays and/or any other problems related to the order process and provide tracking information.
• Obtain purchase order number and/or credit card information from customer.
• Consult with Accounting to research and resolve invoicing or credit discrepancies.
• Attend sales meetings or educational activities to stay up-to-date on the latest technical developments with the products…and more
