Job summary

Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD), a Koch Engineered Solutions company, seeks an Instrumentation Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 in Katy, TX. You will assist with instrumentation design, datasheets, P&IDs, and procurement activities across EPC projects for gas processing facilities.

You will work with experienced engineers, join cross-disciplinary teams, and gain hands-on exposure from development through commissioning. On-site work in Katy is expected.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or related Engineering.
• Eligible for Summer 2027 internship in Katy, TX.
• Willing to work on-site and collaborate with EPC project teams.

Responsibilities

• Support instrumentation design, procurement, and project execution from development through commissioning.
• Assist in instrument datasheet development for pressure, temperature, flow, and level instruments.
• Participate in the preparation and review of P&IDs and instrument indexes.
• Support instrument procurement activities, including requisitions and vendor communication.
• Coordinate design efforts with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
• Attend engineering and design meetings and vendor workshops.
• Support project deliverables, documentation and reporting.
• Opportunity to participate in site visits during construction and commissioning.
