We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer Engineer to support electrical design activities for industrial projects. This role is heavily focused on hands‑on electrical design and documentation across low voltage, instrumentation, and medium‑voltage systems. Experience in a chemical manufacturing or similar industrial environment is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed electrical designs including wiring diagrams, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
- Perform electrical design work across a wide range of voltages, from 24 V instrumentation and low voltage systems up to 480 V and medium voltage systems (~13.8 kV).
- Design and review instrumentation wiring, control wiring, and interconnections.
- Prepare and interpret analyzer and tubing schematics, including analytical panel drawings (strong plus).
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including process, instrumentation, and operations.
- Support redlines, updates, and revisions to existing electrical drawings and documentation.
- Provide technical support during design reviews and field implementation as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Electrical Designer or Electrical Design Engineer in an industrial environment.
- Strong proficiency in electrical design deliverables (wiring diagrams, schematics, single-line diagrams).
- Hands‑on experience with low voltage, instrumentation (24 V), and power systems up to medium voltage (~13.8 kV).
- Ability to work onsite full‑time (5 days/week) in New Jersey.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced project environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, or similar process‑industry environment.
- Familiarity with analyzer systems, analytical panels, and tubing schematics.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as NEC, IEEE, and ISA.
This is a 6-month onsite contract role offering a strong opportunity for experienced electrical designers seeking hands‑on project work in an industrial setting.
