NES Fircroft Ltd is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Designer to join our client’s team in Allentown, PA or Houston, TX. This long-term contract role delivers safe, fit-for-purpose instrument designs within schedule and budget, with competitive pay and benefits.

Our client is actively seeking an experienced Instrumentation Designer to join their team out of their facility in either Allentown, PA or Houston, TX! This individual will be responsible for delivering safe and fit for purpose instrument designs to an agreed schedule and within budgetary restrictions. This job holder is one of the key members of the design team, holding responsibility for all instrumentation design and associated documentation as it pertains to varying projects. This is a full-time, long-term contract opportunity with a global industrial gases company offering competitive pay of $85.00-100.00/hr, health benefits, 401K, life insurance and more!

Can be local to Allentown PA or Houston TX offices. .

Position Summary:
To deliver safe, fit for purpose instrument designs to an agreed schedule to meet a pre-agreed budget. The job holder is one of the key members of the design team having responsibility for the instrumentation design. Based on the execution strategy, the job holder will be responsible for performing instrumentation design on projects.

Responsibilities:

• Delivery of instrumentation design forprojects.
• Producing all instrumentation design deliverables on a project.
• Serving as the lead for instrument design on the project and as the technical interface withproject execution teams.
• Providing support to other engineering centers as workload requires.
• Compliance with company or project standards and specifications.
• Generation of deliverables such as instrument index, instrument Location Layouts, Cable Schedules, Wiring Diagrams/ Schematics, Analyzer Panel Design, instrument Hook-Ups, instrument Power Distribution, Material Take Offs Bill of Quantities, Control Room and Analyzer Room Layouts, Cable Routing Layouts.
• 3D modelling of equipment using SP3D.
• Attendance at model reviews. Support development of instrument design strategies.
• Effective communication by email, ppt or ‘face to face’ AP’s execution strategies, schedule issues and project requirements.
• Development of common work practices within the engineering organization.
• Review/interpretation of vendor documents.
• Interface with other disciplines to overcome design issues.
• Implementation of quality procedures and contribute to continuous implementation of improvement activities.

Qualifications:

• An Engineering Degree or a Diploma in instrumentation and work experience
• Excellent written and spoken English and strong communication skills.
• Experience comparable with the grade in a relevant industry.
• Familiarity with an engineering organization, the function of each discipline and how they interact and the function of the various support groups globally.
• Experience to generate all instrumentation design deliverables like wiring diagrams, cable schedules, Hook up drawings, MTOs, layouts, 3D modelling etc.
• Experience of preparing control room and analyzer room layouts.
• Experience working with tools such as SPI, SP3D or PDS.
• Ability to interface and work with other disciplines for the finalization of cable layouts and other instrument design deliverables.
• Experience Exposure of using global engineering standards. Knowledge and experience of plant layouts and model review meetings.
• Experience and knowledge to effectively communicate issues and ideas effectively.
