Job summary

Airswift is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer I in Baton Rouge, onsite, for a 1-year assignment within a refinery and chemical complex. You will contribute to instrumentation and controls engineering, PLC programming, HMI upgrades, troubleshooting, and field coordination to support safe, compliant project execution.

The role requires 2+ years of relevant experience, field-based work with travel up to 50% within about an hour of Baton Rouge, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of instrumentation and controls experience.
• Experience with field equipment, drawings, troubleshooting, and supporting operations or small projects.
• Field-based role with travel up to 50% within ~1 hour of Baton Rouge and after-hours availability.
• Experience coordinating with field personnel, electricians, operations, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Ability to review engineering work for compliance with specifications and standards.

Responsibilities

• Instrumentation and controls engineering with PLC programming and HMI upgrades.
• Troubleshoot field equipment and coordinate field-based activities.
• Coordinate with field personnel, technicians, operations teams, contractors.
• Support small capital projects and discipline engineering activities.
