Job summary

Mentor Technical Group (MTG) in Puerto Rico is seeking an Instrumentation Calibration Tech to support FDA-regulated life sciences environments. The role involves hands-on calibration across multiple domains and working with established calibration software.

The position covers calibrations on bioreactors, utilities, formulations and aseptic areas, with strong focus on cGMP and process tolerance evaluation.

Qualifications

  • Experience calibrating in pharmaceutical/biotech environments.
  • Strong knowledge of tolerance calculations and process tolerance evaluation.
  • Experience calibrating systems in bioreactors, utilities, formulations, and aseptic areas.
  • Familiarity with calibration software such as RAM, Calman or Procal.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calibrations in pharmaceutical/biotech environments.
  • Assess calibration systems and evaluate process tolerances.
  • Calibrate components including temperature, pressure, humidity, flow, mass, pH, conductivity, dimension and electrical.
  • Calibrate for bioreactors, utilities, formulations and aseptic areas.
  • Utilize calibration software (Blue Mountain RAM, Calman or Procal) as required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Experience performing calibrations in Pharmaceutical Industry Environment. Biotechnology preferred.
  • Strong Knowledge in tolerance calculation
  • Experience in Calibration system assessment
  • Strong knowledge in process tolerance evaluation.
  • ProcessInstrumentation/ Calibration to manage calibration program.
  • Experience performing calibrations to Bioreactors, Utilities, Formulation, Aseptic Areas.
  • Experience in Blue Mountain (RAM), Calman, or Procal Software is highly preferred.

Qualifications Requirements/Knowledge/Education/Skills:

  • AD, Instrumentation Technology, and or Electronics.
  • Available for the following working hours: Tuesday to Saturday from 9pm to 5:30am

Physical Requirements and Working Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate equipments, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, talk, or hear; sit; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and smell. The employee may lift and/or move up to 25-35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • He / she may frequently work inside weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts, exposed to wet and or humid conditions, and an odorous atmosphere, may be exposed to fumes and the risk of electrical shock, and occasionally work on ladders in high places, in small spaces, such as lift/metering stations, manholes, tanks and wet wells. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
