Job summary

Mentor Technical Group in Durham, North Carolina, is seeking a Calibration Specialist with experience in the pharmaceutical industry. The ideal candidate will possess an Associate degree in Instrumentation and knowledge of calibration processes for various parameters.

Qualifications

• Must possess experience in handling temperature, pressure, humidity, flow, mass, pH, and conductivity.
• Must be knowledgeable of cGMP.

Responsibilities

• Perform calibrations in a Pharmaceutical Industry Environment, ideally Biotechnology.
• Manage calibration programs for bioreactors and utilities.
• Evaluate process tolerances and instrumentation.

Skills

Calibration experience in Pharmaceutical Industry

Strong knowledge of tolerance calculation

Calibration system assessment

Process tolerance evaluation

Experience with Blue Mountain, Calman, or Procal software

Education

Associate degree in Instrumentation, Technology, and/or Electronics

Job Responsibilities

• Experience performing calibrations in a Pharmaceutical Industry Environment. Biotechnology preferred.
• Strong knowledge of tolerance calculation.
• Experience in calibration system assessment.
• Strong knowledge of process tolerance evaluation.
• Process instrumentation/calibration to manage calibration program.
• Experience performing calibrations to bioreactors, utilities, formulation, aseptic areas.
• Experience with Blue Mountain (RAM), Calman, or Procal software is highly preferred.

Qualifications Requirements, Knowledge, Education, Skills

• AD in Instrumentation, Technology, and/or Electronics.
• AD in Tecnología de Instrumentación y / o Electrónica.

Physical Requirements and Working Environment

• Handling, operating equipment, tools, or controls; standing, walking, talking, hearing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, smelling. May lift or move up to 25–35 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Required vision: close, distance, color, depth perception, focus adjustment.
• Frequently work in weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts, wet and humid conditions, odorous atmospheres, fumes, electrical shock risk, ladders in high places, small spaces (lift/metering stations, manholes, tanks, wet wells). Noise level usually moderately loud.
