Job Summary: Mississippi Power is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Intern to join our team at Plant Daniel. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in the field of electrical, instrumentation, and controls within a power generation environment. The intern will work closely with experienced professionals to support various operational and maintenance tasks, contributing to the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems, including PLCs, DCS, and HMI equipment.
• Support the configuration, installation, and integration of control systems.
• Aid in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance plans.
• Collaborate with the I&C team to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Contribute to the documentation and record‑keeping of maintenance activities.
• Assist in the preparation and execution of outage work scopes.
• Gain exposure to NERCIP regulations and cybersecurity practices related to control systems.
• Support the daily operations of generating units and assist in strategic planning for plant operations.
