The City of Portland's Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) is seeking an Instrument Technician to install, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, automation, and instrumentation equipment at two major wastewater treatment plants and numerous pump stations across the city.

The role requires knowledge of precision instruments and process control systems, willingness to participate in after-hours callouts, and compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of precision instruments and process control systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, modify and install equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team.

Responsabilités

• Set up, install, repair, and calibrate instrumentation and control equipment.
• Program and diagnose PLCs, HMIs, and other control systems.
• Maintain and test instrumentation and related systems; update programs.
• Review designs for safety and compliance; coordinate with contractors.
• Train and lead others as assigned; enforce lockout/tagout and safety.
• Design and fabricate instrument stands and panels.
• Ensure timely availability of materials and keep records.
