Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Minneapolis is seeking an Instrument Technician to provide sterile instruments and supplies for procedures, decontaminate, process, assemble and sterilize instruments, and distribute them to surgical sites.

The role supports the OR for upcoming surgery cases and responds to emergencies, with evenings shifts 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM and rotating weekends. 1.0 FTE (80 hours per 2 weeks) with day 90-day orientation on day shift.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience in an operating room or medical device reprocessing role, or completion of a Fairview Sterile Processing training program.
• 2 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician, Surgical Technologist, or in a medical device reprocessing role.
• CRCST certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical instruments and supplies for procedures and cases.
• Decontaminate, clean, process, assemble, sterilize, store and distribute instruments and medical devices.
• Serve as a resource to physicians, nurses and staff regarding instruments and supplies.
• Support the OR for upcoming surgery cases and respond to emergencies.
