Job summary

Flint Hills Resources in Rosemount, MN is seeking an Instrument Reliability Engineer to strengthen our Asset Management program. You will ensure instrument availability for safe, clean, and reliable operation and provide technical solutions for key stakeholders.

You will develop reliability strategies, lead RCFA investigations, mentor others, and coordinate with maintenance and vendors to repair, replace, tune, and test instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology OR at least five (5) years of hand-on experience with instrumentation
• Experience analyzing instrumentation data to identify trends, detect issues, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement

Responsibilities

• Provide technical solutions that meet functional expectations for stakeholders and support instrument standards
• Lead projects to upgrade/replace equipment nearing obsolescence
• Develop instrument-related scopes for repair/replacement decisions
• Lead reliability strategies for instrumentation
• Apply RCFA methodologies to solve problems at micro and macro levels
• Participate in safety, risk assessment, and instrumentation incident investigations
• Mentor others within the Instrumentation Reliability team
• Prioritize multiple business requests within a multi-functional team
• Maintain instrumentation reliability metrics and select appropriate metrics
• Knowledge of wireless systems and wireless instrumentation
• Understand field instrumentation for process measurement and control valves/transmission systems
