Job summary

Muon Space, Inc. in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Senior Instrument Technical Program Manager to own the end-to-end delivery of EO/IR remote sensing instruments, bridging systems engineering, hardware engineering, and mission management.

You will drive the integrated master schedule, budget, risk posture, and design reviews, coordinating with the instrument team and external suppliers to ensure flight readiness in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. with 3+ years in imaging/IR instrumentation or MS with 6+ years in related PM roles.
• Minimum 3+ years in technical program management or engineering leadership.
• Direct experience with LEO EO/IR instruments and FPAs.
• Expert-level use of PM tools (Jira/Confluence/MS Project).
• Security clearance TS/SCI preferred; strong communication and organization.

Responsibilities

• Own the integrated master schedule, budget, and risk register for EO/IR instrument.
• Translate architectures and ICDs into executable plans; manage PDR/CDR prep and execution.
• Interface with Mission TPM and Spacecraft TPM for seamless vehicle integration.
• Coordinate with labs, HW engineering, and optics resources to ensure staffing and throughput.
• Partner with Supply Chain to manage external vendors for optical components.
• Identify bottlenecks, lead root-cause analyses, and track corrective actions to closure.
