• Measures how far different points are from each other horizontally.
• Helps with various pieces of survey equipment.
• Follow directions from Party Chief for this position.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As an Instrument Person at Gonzalez Strength and Associates you will be responsible for transporting and setting up instruments and equipment associated with surveying land and preparing job site for survey

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

• Party Chief gives direction for this position
• Transport and set up instruments and equipment associated with surveying land and preparing job site for survey
• Clear brush or trees away from survey line
• Lays out stakes to prepare for elevation measurements
• Holding prism pole steady for the surveyor to help determine elevations of different points
• Measures how far different points are from each other Horizontally
• Helps with various pieces of survey equipment

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• HS Graduate or GED

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong communication skills both oral and written
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clients

Physical Requirements:

• Occasional lifting/carrying of 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds
• Driving to and from various project sites
• Walking and working outdoors under variable weather conditions.
