Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro Kotis School of Music is seeking a Building Manager and Instrument Inventory Specialist to organize and maintain extensive instrument inventories and oversee facilities for a large music program.

You will hire and supervise student staff, manage preventive maintenance records, and coordinate with facilities and other departments to ensure smooth operation of classes and ensembles.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalency plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Experience with inventory, facilities, and equipment management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain instrument inventory records for 1,600+ instruments and accessories.
• Manage 110,000 square foot School of Music facilities, including room scheduling, keys, and lockers.
• Develop and implement systems for issuing and returning instruments, lockers, and equipment for classes and ensembles.
• Hire, train, schedule, and supervise student staff for inventory, lockers, keys, and Box Office operations.
• Keep records of repairs and preventive maintenance for each instrument.
• Oversee instrument maintenance budget in collaboration with the Director of the Kotis School of Music.
• Liaise with campus facilities, insurance/fixed assets, and housekeeping.
