Job summary

Built by Me is a STEM enrichment company in Scotch Plains, NJ, offering after-school and weekend classes for grades 1–8. We seek energetic instructors to lead hands-on STEM activities, emphasize creativity, and help kids become creators through technology.

Roles are part-time with after-school weekday hours (4–7 pm) and Saturdays (9 am–12 pm). Training is provided, and compensation is competitive for the area.

Qualifications

• Experience working with kids.
• Driver’s license and reliable transportation is a plus (will pay for mileage).
• Availability on weekdays 4-7 pm and Saturdays 9 am-12 pm.
• Interest in robotics, coding, math, design, communications, video, music, and art.
• High emotional intelligence and a creative mind with a great design sensibility, and a driven work ethic.
• Energetic, dependable, friendly, and flexible.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic understanding of technology.

Responsibilities

• Create a fun, safe learning environment for small groups (≤10).
• Support hands-on STEM activities and projects.
• Encourage students to think creatively and express ideas.

Built by Me is a STEM enrichment company. We offer a variety of STEM classes and workshops to children in grades 1 - 8. Our goal is to teach kids to use technology to create and explore. All of our programs are interactive, collaborative, hands‑on, project‑based, and focused on using technology to create and learn new skills while having fun!
