Position Title

Instructor Pool - PHYSICS

Key Job Responsibilities

• Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance.
• Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction.
• Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations.
• Responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, including preparing for and holding classes (face‑to‑face, hybrid, and/or online), maintaining currency in the content area, evaluating students’ work, assessing student outcomes, providing regular and substantive feedback on student work, maintaining appropriate records, and holding office hours.
• May involve advising students and/or providing other service to the department; other duties may be assigned by the chair or dean.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in a field appropriate to the needs of the department, or significant progress toward a doctorate degree, or, in rare circumstances, post‑baccalaureate certification or licensure, or a baccalaureate plus experience, can be established as appropriate qualifications for the teaching position. Depending on the program, specific certification/licensure or clinical experience may be required.
