Job Duties

Each department maintains a search to serve as a pool of potential instructors for program needs. If hired, the instructor reports to the department chair. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in face‑to‑face, hybrid, or online formats, preparing for and holding classes, maintaining currency in the content area, evaluating students, assessing outcomes, providing substantive feedback, maintaining records, and holding office hours. Workload may include advising students and other service to the department.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Facilitate classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance.
• Develop instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction.
• Serve as an initial point of contact for students regarding specific course or series content and expectations.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a field appropriate to the needs of the department, or significant progress toward a doctorate, or, in rare circumstances, post‑baccalaureate certification or licensure, or a baccalaureate plus experience, as appropriate.
• Depending on the program, specific certification, licensure, or clinical experience may be required.
