Job summary

The Gravity Vault Montclair is seeking enthusiastic Instructors to join its team. You will greet customers, assist with memberships and program information, and lead bouldering sessions for youth and adults while maintaining a safe, clean facility.

This role emphasizes delivering an exceptional customer experience, training is provided, and a strong focus on safety and teamwork is expected. Peak times include weekdays and weekends with about 15 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Weekday and weekend availability is preferred (approximately 15 hours per week).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Climbing experience is a plus, but not required. Comprehensive training will be provided.
• Previous experience working with children is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers at the front desk, using our POS system to manage check-ins and sales.
• Provide information and support for memberships, programs, retail purchases and general inquiries both in person and over the phone.
• Lead private bouldering sessions, youth and adult classes, birthday parties and seasonal camp programs.
• Monitor and uphold safety standards throughout the facility for both staff and guests.
• Assist with daily cleaning and operational procedures, including opening and closing duties as well as other job related tasks.

The Gravity Vault Montclair, a dynamic bouldering and fitness facility, is currently seeking enthusiastic and dependable Instructors to join its team. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with people of all ages and are excited to share the world of climbing with others. As an Instructor you will report to the management team and play a vital role in delivering an exceptional customer experience, maintaining a safe and clean facility and teaching bouldering to both new and experienced climbers.
