  • Experience with a variety of teaching strategies including advanced instructional technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and the community.
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Computer literacy and ability to use common software programs.
  • Some online instruction experience is a plus.

  • Doctorate or Master's degree in discipline OR Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in discipline.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Any applicable certificates and/or training.
  • Experience in teaching college-level Biology courses (especially Anatomy and Physiology I and II) in two-year colleges or degree-granting technical colleges.

  • Experience in course and curriculum development, demonstrated flexibility with diverse student populations and learning styles; demonstrated experience with a variety of teaching strategies including the use of advanced instructional technologies.

Job Description Summary

Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited Biology courses at Gwinnett Technical College. Develops program and syllabi, goals, and objectives. Teaches face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes as needed to provide course delivery and scheduling options that promote student retention and program completion. Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares budget requests. Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences. Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area. Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues. Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
