Job summary

State of Georgia invites applications for an on-campus Instructor of Physics/Physical Science at the Gwinnett Technical College—Lawrenceville campus. This full-time, 12-month position reports to the Dean of Education with a typical 40-hour week, Monday–Friday.

May include some duties at Alpharetta-North Fulton Campus. The role requires a Doctorate or Master’s degree (18 graduate hours in discipline) and a strong background in college-level physics, curriculum development, and effective teaching

Job Description

Instructor - Physics/Physical Science This job is a full time (12-Month), benefited, FLSA exempt position in the General Education Division that reports to the Dean of Education. Working primarily at our Lawrenceville Campus. Schedule - 40-hours per week, on campus, at the Lawrenceville campus; Monday through Friday; May occasionally work at the Alpharetta-North Fulton Campus

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Job Code 10213 Category 1) Doctorate or Master's degree in discipline OR Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in teaching college‑level Physics courses in two‑year colleges or degree‑granting technical colleges.
• Experience in the course and curriculum development, demonstrated flexibility with the diverse student population and learning styles; demonstrated experience with a variety of teaching strategies including the use of advanced instructional technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and the community.
• Ability to teach in the classroom.
• Proficient in written and oral communication.
• Demonstrated occupational competency.
• Must be computer literate with the ability to use common software programs.
• Some experience with online instruction a plus.
