Job summary

ARA is seeking an instructional systems designer to support DoD, government, and commercial training programs. Translate complex source material into engaging learning experiences and work with SMEs and production teams to deliver varied multimedia training products.

The role covers CBT/WBT/ILT/VILT/eLearning, storyboards, scripts, and assessments, using Captivate and Articulate 360. Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ experience required; strong writing and project skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design or related field or equivalent.
  • 2+ years designing training for adult learners or technical audiences.
  • Experience developing CBT/WBT/ILT/VILT/eLearning/blended learning products.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Captivate and Articulate 360 (Rise 360); other tools beneficial.
  • Strong instructional design methods, adult learning, and assessment design.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills; able to simplify complex content.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables and collaborate with SMEs, developers, and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze source materials, learner needs, and SME input to identify gaps.
  • Develop measurable objectives, strategies, assessments, and evaluations.
  • Design and develop CBT, WBT, ILT, VILT, eLearning, multimedia, and blended products.
  • Create storyboards, scripts, knowledge checks, assessments, and facilitator materials.
  • Build interactive training using Captivate, Articulate 360/Rise 360, and related tools.
  • Translate technical content into learner-centered instruction with accuracy.
  • Collaborate with SMEs, artists, videographers, developers, and customers.
  • Support reviews for quality, accessibility, and compliance; maintain version control.
