Job summary

Cleveland Metropolitan School District is seeking an instructional assistant (paraprofessional) to provide instructional support, reinforce classroom instruction, and help students with disabilities under an IEP. You will work closely with teachers to ensure a safe, engaging learning environment.

The role includes supervising students before and after school, assisting with behavior plans, preparing materials, and helping with activities of daily living.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; related college courses preferred.
• Associate's Degree preferred; ParaPro Assessment may be required.
• Ohio Educational Aide Permit within 60 days; valid during employment.

Responsibilities

• Adapts to the individual social, emotional, and academic needs of students.
• Reinforces instruction and behavior plans as directed by the teacher.
• Supports students with IEPs and monitors progress and data.
• Provides supervision before, during, and after school, including bus loading/unloading.
• Assists in preparing and adapting instructional materials.
• Coordinates space for specialized programs and assists with daily living activities as needed.
