Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited program.
• Professional librarian experience.
• Experience in a community college setting.
• Ability to incorporate technology into the library.
• Strong knowledge of LibGuides and Blackboard.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and individual instruction in library research skills in multiple settings (face-to-face, hybrid, online).
• Assist in selection of library materials through consultation with faculty, Deans, and staff.
• Develop and utilize library research guides and instructional aids for students, faculty and staff.
• Maintain records in area of responsibility as required by the College library.
• Post and maintain library duty and office hours as per guidelines.
• Solicit and collect evaluations of instruction and orientation from students.
• Contribute to governance via committees and meetings.
• Participate in faculty orientation and professional development activities.
• Maintain liaison with faculty and local institutions for information on services and resources.
• Lead in divisional and departmental responsibilities and project implementation.
• Attend scheduled library/division activities and perform other duties as assigned.
