Minimum Requirements:
Associate degree in Graphic Design or a closely related field and two years of professional experience in graphic design, digital media, print production, creative technologies, or a related creative industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media, or a related field. Experience supporting instructional technology or educational laboratories preferred. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, large-format printing, laser cutters, vinyl cutters, or other creative production technologies preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
- Knowledge of graphic design principles, digital production workflows, and creative technologies; proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud; ability to troubleshoot creative production equipment; strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills; ability to prioritize multiple projects.

- Oversees lab operations and identifies and notifies the Department Chair and/or Associate Dean of potential challenges and problems.
- Recommends practices and procedures within the lab and maintains safe operating procedures for instructional equipment, technology, and studio spaces while ensuring compliance with applicable college safety guidelines.
- Monitors and initiates orders for necessary supplies and consults with the Department Chair or Associate Dean and Instructional Office Assistant regarding purchase requisitions and budgets; maintains inventory records, ensuring instructional supplies, equipment, and technology remain available for student use.
- Participates in the organization and support of Graphic Design program events, including portfolio reviews, exhibitions, open houses, recruitment activities, industry engagement events, and other college-sponsored initiatives.
- Research emerging creative technologies and advises the Department Chair and/or Associate Dean regarding equipment, software, and technology needs and maintains current quotes on equipment and technology for future capital purchases.
- Maintains a complete accounting inventory of equipment, collaborates with inventory control, and coordinates repair, replacement, and disposal of outdated or non-functional equipment.
- Prepares facilities for classes and ensures that computers, equipment, materials, software, and instructional resources are available for instruction.
- Provides technical support to faculty and students with industry-standard software, hardware, printers, scanners, photography equipment, and other creative technologies used throughout the curriculum.
- Assists students during scheduled lab hours by providing guidance on equipment operation, file preparation, production workflows, and best practices while reinforcing faculty instruction.
- Coordinates preventative maintenance and troubleshooting for computers, printers, plotters, photography equipment, laser cutters, vinyl cutters, and other instructional technologies, as applicable.
- Collaborates with faculty to develop and improve instructional resources, workflows, and lab procedures that enhance the student learning experience.
