Job summary

Montgomery College is seeking a full-time Radiologic Technology faculty member to begin January 2027. The program is JRCERT-accredited and a member of a collective bargaining unit. The selected candidate will teach in a multicultural environment and engage in program development and accreditation activities.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, ARRT certification, Maryland license eligibility, and 2 years of radiology experience. Travel to clinical sites in the DC–VA area is expected.

Job description

Position Overview

Montgomery College is seeking an outstanding full-time Radiologic Technology faculty member to fill a position beginning January 2027. The Radiologic Technology program is fully accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). This position is part of a collective bargaining unit. The successful candidate will appreciate teaching in a multi-cultural environment and will welcome the opportunity to work with students with diverse learning abilities.



Faculty Duties


  • Teach a variety of didactic, laboratory, and clinical courses within the Radiologic Technology program.

  • Teach 30 semester hours per academic year.

  • Opportunities exist to teach summer classes.

  • Participate in accreditation activities and abide by accreditation guidelines and standards.

  • Participate in discipline-related activities such as program evaluation, curriculum design, and outcomes assessment and evaluation.

  • Provide support to the program and clinical coordinator as needed.

  • Travel within the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area to visit clinical sites affiliated with the program.

  • Faculty members are expected to serve on departmental, campus, and/or college committees, hold office hours, advise students, participate in course and program assessment, and maintain an active personal program of professional development and continuous learning.



Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in good standing.

  • Current Maryland Radiographer State License, in good standing, or eligibility to obtain a Maryland Radiographer License.

  • Two (2) years’ clinical experience in radiology.

  • Demonstrated excellence in classroom instruction using a variety of teaching methods.

  • Experience integrating technology into course delivery including the use of a learning management system (LMS).

  • Experience utilizing high-impact teaching pedagogies to foster student engagement and active-learning.

  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive and equitable teaching practices and support of a diverse student population.

  • Demonstrated effective collaboration with colleagues.

  • Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship.



Preferred Qualifications


  • Master’s degree or Doctoral degree

  • Experience teaching at the post-secondary level in radiologic technology in a JRCERT-certified program.

  • Additional certifications (e.g.: CT, MRI, Radiation Therapy, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography) or other current additional imaging certifications.

  • Evidence of commitment to professional development and scholarly activities.

  • Experience supporting students to overcome barriers to academic success.



Salary

Hiring Range: $64,510 - $98,220.
