Montgomery College is seeking two full-time Philosophy faculty members for Germantown and Rockville campuses. Positions begin Spring 2027. Teach a range of Philosophy courses in diverse formats including face-to-face, online, hybrid, and blended.
Responsibilities include classroom instruction, curriculum development, advising, committee work, and using instructional technology. The role requires a commitment to supporting diverse learners and your teaching may occur days, evenings, and weekends.
Montgomery College is seeking two full-time Philosophy faculty members. One position will be based out of the Germantown Campus. One position will be based out of the Rockville Campus. Both positions will start in Spring 2027. We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated teachers who exhibit a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner. The faculty members will have the opportunity to teach a range of Philosophy classes. This position is part of a collective bargaining unit. The successful candidate will appreciate teaching in a multicultural environment and will welcome the opportunity to work with students with diverse learning abilities.
Faculty duties include classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction, assessment, curriculum development, advising, professional inquiry, committee work, and utilizing instructional technology. Teaching assignments may include various delivery modes, such as face-to-face, online, hybrid, and/or blended formats during days, evenings, and weekends. Montgomery College has multiple campuses, and faculty may be assigned to teach in-person at any of these campuses and teach online. Duties include but are not limited to: Faculty members are expected to teach a variety of Philosophy courses offered by the discipline and may teach in another discipline depending on qualifications. Faculty may be asked to teach early morning, evening, weekend, off-campus, remote, or online courses. Faculty members teach 30 semester hours per academic year. Opportunities may exist for faculty to teach summer courses. Faculty duties include serving on department, campus and collegewide committees, advising students, providing leadership to student clubs, maintaining an active program of professional development, and participating in professional organizations and activities.
$64,510 - $98,220 annually.

Participation in a retirement plan (Pension or Optional Retirement Plan, depending on the position). If you are already retired from the Maryland State Retirement System, you may not enroll in a Maryland State Retirement System plan at Montgomery College and may have earnings restrictions, per state law.
