You will apply adult learning principles and create engaging content across web-based, instructor-led, video, and blended formats.

You will lead end-to-end development, partner with SMEs and leaders, and ensure training aligns with business goals.

Qualifications

  • 35 years of demonstrated experience developing training content using Articulate 360 and other eLearning or multimedia development tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience using these tools to conduct daily business and develop training content.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with subject matter experts, business partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines.
  • Experience developing and delivering training within a highly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theory, learning technologies, and current design trends.
  • Proven project management skills with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, refine, and implement training materials that support product initiatives and business priorities across Wealth Management Solutions and Banking and Cash Solutions.
  • Apply instructional design principles, adult learning best practices, and industry standards throughout the design and development process.
  • Provide instructional design thought leadership and recommendations for multiple learning priorities and training initiatives.
  • Partner closely with training, marketing, business leaders, and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and refine existing course content.
  • Collaborate with training peers and business partners to define learning goals and objectives and recommend effective instructional strategies and solutions.
  • Manage the end-to-end development of training deliverables, including: Learning needs and requirements; Instructional design and development; Content creation and storyboarding; Business partner and subject matter expert reviews; Course evaluation and measurement; Alignment of learning outcomes to business goals.
  • Leverage established storyboards, templates, and design standards while applying sound instructional design practices to develop and modify learning content.
  • Utilize Articulate 360 design and publishing tools to develop engaging training that supports knowledge retention, skill transfer, and behavior change.
  • Develop training using a variety of modalities, including eLearning, instructor-led training, video, animation, and blended learning solutions.
  • Apply a culture of simplicity by ensuring training focuses on the most critical knowledge, skills, and behaviors learners need to be successful.
  • Support the continuous improvement of training content, learning experiences, and development processes to help achieve business objectives.
  • Stay current on learning technologies, instructional design practices, and emerging design trends and incorporate relevant approaches into training solutions.
  • Participate in regular team and business partner meetings to provide project updates, discuss priorities, and align on initiatives.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while maintaining quality, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.

Job Description

Fulcrum Consulting, an LRS company, is seeking a Instructional Designer with our client in Minneapolis, MN.

Our client is seeking an Instructional Designer will develop and manage training materials that prepare advisors, field leaders, and other identified audiences to effectively learn and apply products and solutions within Wealth Management Solutions (WMS) and Banking and Cash Solutions (BCS) at Ameriprise Financial.

This role provides both thought leadership and tactical execution across multiple learning priorities. The Instructional Designer applies innovative instructional design techniques and adult learning best practices to create engaging learning experiences delivered through a variety of modalities, including web-based learning, instructor-led training, animated and talking-head video, and blended learning solutions.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Training for WMS and BCS, this role will support the evolution of the existing product training library and help create more impactful, relevant, and effective learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

    • Retirement products and solutions
    • Banking products and services
    • Cash management solutions
  • Experience or demonstrated skills in graphic design and visual communication.
  • Familiarity with Vyond and Adobe Acrobat Pro or other Adobe design tools.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative, proactively contributes ideas, and confidently drives projects forward.
  • Bachelors degree with a focus in instructional design, adult learning theory, instructional technology, or a related discipline.
  • Instructional Design Certificate or comparable professional certification.

The base hourly range for this contract position is $20-$50 per hour, depending on experience. The base range for this contract position is $X $X per hour, depending on experience. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all U.S. locations. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors.
