Job Summary We are seeking a highly proficient Instructional Designer to work on projects related to K-12 literacy education. The Instructional Designer collaborates with subject matter experts, educators, and the tech team to create accessible, interactive, and effective online learning experiences. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, populating, editing and exporting learning experiences using multiple instructional design tools. This is a full-time position that requires creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for creating accessible and innovative interactive learning tools. The Instructional Designer reports to the Director of Curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Learning Experience Development: Design and develop immersive e-learning modules using Storyline 360, Rise 360, and other development tools as necessary, ensuring alignment with educational standards and best practices in literacy education.
  • Interactive Content Creation: Implement innovative designs that cater to various learning styles and levels, incorporating multimedia and interactive elements to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.
  • User Experience Design: Collaborate with the instructional design team to ensure e-learning modules are intuitive, user-friendly, and accessible to all students.
  • Content Management: Regularly update and maintain e-learning materials using Storyline 360, Rise 360, and other tools as needed, ensuring content remains accurate, current, and engaging.
  • Evaluation and Assessment Tools: Develop digital tools within Storyline 360, Rise 360, and other tools as needed to measure learner progress and the effectiveness of instructional materials.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with educators, subject matter experts, and the technology team to ensure content accuracy and engaging delivery.
  • Feedback Implementation: Regularly collect, analyze, and incorporate feedback from users (internal RGR staff, students, teachers, parents) to improve instructional materials.
  • Investigate and Diagnose: Assess the scope and urgency of reported issues in published content and respond accordingly with a solution.

This is a non-exhaustive list of role responsibilities.Additional duties may be required from time to time to support the business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • Experience using Articulate 360 for instructional design, particularly for a K-12 student population.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva to aid in designing online materials.
  • A background in creating educational materials for K-12 settings is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with code management and Github a plus, but not required.
  • Understanding of pedagogical theories and instructional design models a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work self-sufficiently and also collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to be flexible with shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including some nights and weekends.
  • Ability to travel:
  • Approximately 3 trips per year.
  • Approximately 3-5 travel days per year.

This is a remote role with travel, typically performed on a computer and requires regular use of a laptop or PC, and telephone.Physical requirements include, but are not limited to:

·Sitting or standing for extended periods of time

·Regular use of a keyboard, and mouse or trackpad

·Frequent viewing of a computer screen

·Frequent scrolling and typing
