Job summary

ConsultNet is seeking an Instructional Designer for a remote, 12-18 month contract to design and develop microlearning courses focused on a commercial lending loan origination system replacement.

The role centers on rapid development using Articulate Storyline, with 37 pre-planned courses to be delivered via the LMS during an eight-week rollout, aligning with releases 2.1 and 2.2 and concluding by 2027 end.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Experience with Articulate Storyline and rapid course production.
• Ability to learn new technology and complex financial concepts quickly.
• Banking or financial services experience preferred, otherwise strong instructional design experience acceptable.

Job Description

The Instructional Designer will design and develop modern learning solutions that help employees learn new software, build skills, and meet business goals. This role will focus heavily on creating online microlearning courses using Articulate Storyline for a commercial lending loan origination system replacement.

The consultant will develop 37 pre-planned microlearning courses that will be delivered through the learning management system during an eight-week learner rollout. The project is expected to support releases 2.1 and 2.2 and continue through the end of 2027, with a planned handoff before release 2.3. The role will work closely with business leaders and subject matter experts to understand learning needs, translate existing procedures into training content, and create concise, effective learning experiences.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on Storyline experience and be able to produce high-quality courses quickly while following established instructions, writing standards, and course design guidelines. This person should be comfortable learning new technology and complex financial concepts, working within an existing framework, and paying close attention to wording and detail. Candidates with banking or financial services experience are preferred, but strong instructional design experience may be considered in place of industry experience.
