Job description

Church Pension Group (CPG) is a financial services organization that serves the Episcopal Church, located in Midtown Manhattan. CPG was founded in 1917 to provide pension benefits to eligible clergy of the Episcopal Church. Since then, its mission has expanded to include life and disability insurance, health benefits, property & casualty insurance, and publishing.

Instructional Design Specialist will be responsible for maintaining ownership of all B2B and B2C educational content and working closely with other writers and colleagues to develop it. This includes designing and orchestrating in-person and online education. The Instructional Design Specialist will work across CPG to help ensure that all materials include a clear focus on both audience needs and appropriate messaging.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Develop online educational curricula for B2B and B2C clients, highlighting the products, programs, and services offered or administered by CPG.
  2. Maintain and update educational content as regulatory changes occur or new products are launched.
  3. Create interactive eLearning modules, infographics, video scripts, presentations, and other materials to support learning.
  4. Work with cross-departmental teams to ensure that prepared work includes a clear focus on both audience needs and key CPG messaging.
  5. Work with business units across CPG to host in-person employee training.
  6. Remain abreast of best practices and innovations in the field of adult education, both in-person and online.
  7. Effective performance of the essential functions of this position requires regular in-person, on-site interaction with colleagues, both for purposes of relationship building and meaningful collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience working with a variety of eLearning authoring tools, preferably including Articulate 360.
  2. Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  3. Experience in designing and developing engaging in-person and online educational content and learning programs.
  4. Ability to develop online curricula, eLearning courses, educational conference exercises, and facilitator guides.
  5. A deep understanding of best practices in adult education and its provision online.
  6. Experience in evaluating and documenting the impact of learning programs.
  7. Ability to think critically and to communicate abstract or complex issues and subject matter in clear terms.
  8. A proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail.
  9. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  10. Ability to quickly garner an understanding of CPG’s lines of business, its operations, and its products, programs, and services.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  1. BA/BS preferred. Combination of education and experience considered.
  2. 5+ years of educational content design experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Extensive use of a computer keyboard is a demand of the position to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Currently, hybrid work environment, which requires working in CPG’s office Tuesdays through Thursdays and flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Church Pension Group employees must maintain a professional, compassionate, and trustworthy work environment always. Salary Range: $72,000 - $90,000
