Job summary

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill—Adams School of Dentistry seeks an Assistant Director of Learning Systems & Faculty Support to lead instructional design, curriculum support, and learning systems across the school. The role advises faculty, designs syllabi and Canvas materials, and develops training resources to enhance teaching quality and student outcomes.

The position analyzes student performance data to support Teaching Committee reviews and strengthens assessment alignment

Qualifications

• Knowledge of instructional design principles and learning theories.
• Ability to design, review, and improve curricula and assessment methods.
• Experience supporting faculty in course design and teaching and learning initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide course consultation and instructional design support to faculty.
• Coordinate development and approval of syllabi and Canvas course materials.
• Develop and deliver training resources, including online modules.
• Maintain standardized educational resources (syllabus/templates).
• Support curriculum mapping and alignment of objectives, activities, and assessments.
• Collect, analyze, and report student performance data to inform decisions.
• Support classroom instructional technologies and provide basic tech support.
