Job summary

Roane State Community College is seeking an Instructional Design Specialist with D2L (Brightspace) expertise to support faculty in designing online and hybrid courses and to provide frontline LMS support across CTAT channels. The role emphasizes accessibility, instructional technology integration, and faculty development.

You will develop training modules, templates, and resources, facilitate workshops, and stay informed on AI and edtech trends to improve student engagement and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, Instructional Technology or related field.
• 2+ years’ experience administering and supporting an LMS.
• LMS testing and QA experience for major updates and rollout of new tools.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, and continuous improvement of online and hybrid courses.
• Collaborate with faculty to align objectives, assessments, and activities.
• Identify opportunities for course quality, accessibility, and outcomes improvements.
• Promote student engagement through instructional technologies and digital tools.
• Apply WCAG 2.1 AA and UDL in course design and development.
• Develop course templates, resources, and design guides.
• Create self-paced training modules for faculty and students.
• Facilitate workshops and consultations on instructional design and technology integration.
• Stay current with AI, instructional design, and educational technology trends.
• Provide front-line Brightspace (D2L) support for faculty, staff, and students.
• Troubleshoot LMS issues including access and course setup.
• Ensure LMS accessibility compliance and assist with reviews.
• Maintain internal documentation and CTAT workflows.
• Coordinate with D2L support with the System Administrator.
• Maintain CTAT website content for accessibility and usability.
