Join to apply for the Instructional Design Analyst role at LCMC Health

The Instructional Design Analyst works under the supervision of the Training & Optimization Director as part of the Information Technology Team. The primary responsibilities include supporting software implementations, new functionality rollouts, employee and provider training, analyzing user requirements, developing training plans for EPIC and other clinical/ancillary applications, environment build/prep, supporting go-live processes, and assisting help desk support. The role ensures end-users have the necessary tools, knowledge, and skills to perform their jobs effectively, providing high-quality patient care. The analyst prepares and presents training plans and materials, conducts classes on patient-care systems and enterprise-wide applications, and exemplifies excellent customer service and teamwork skills.

Your Daily Responsibilities:

  • Represent IT professionally and respectfully.
  • Complete tasks within project scope, timelines, and budgets.
  • Understand integration with EMR and third-party applications; collaborate with internal IT teams on troubleshooting, reporting, and training.
  • Maintain knowledge of healthcare, technology, and industry trends; pursue certifications and proficiencies.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with technical teams and end-users.

Analysis Tasks:

  • Gather data on current environments, workflows, and system access.
  • Translate workflows into curricula and maintain training environments.
  • Work with application teams to identify training needs and prepare documentation.
  • Review and test software updates, ensuring training materials are current.

Training and Development:

  • Create accurate and high-quality training materials.
  • Maintain and update curricula to match system updates.
  • Deliver comprehensive training on EHR and clinical applications across the system.
  • Utilize various instructional methods including lectures, demonstrations, and virtual training.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Work directly with providers and staff to improve EMR efficiency.
  • Provide additional training outside of scheduled sessions as needed.
  • Support go-live and post-implementation phases.
  • Participate in project teams and attend relevant conferences.

Additional Duties:

  • Coordinate with the Learning and Development team.
  • Participate in employee committees and serve as a backup for related roles.
  • Support application help desk and participate in on-call rotations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma with 5 years relevant experience or Associate's Degree with 3 years relevant experience; Bachelor's or Master's preferred.
  • Certification in at least one EPIC application.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of healthcare systems, ability to analyze issues, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly.
  • Complete EPIC certification within 6 weeks of last training class; curriculum development and environment build skills are a plus.
