Job summary

North Shore School District 112 is seeking an Instructional Coach to collaborate with classroom teachers to diagnose student needs, plan instruction, and improve teaching effectiveness. The role emphasizes modeling best practices, leading professional development, and using data to drive planning and outcomes.

Responsibilities include co-planning with teachers, observing classrooms, giving timely feedback, and leading district-wide professional development.

Qualifications

• Illinois Professional Educator License is required.
• ESL Endorsement is required.
• Preferred bilingual Spanish speaking skills.
• Endorsements in Reading specialist, MS Mathematics, MS Language Arts, elementary education, LBS1, or teacher leader.
• Four years of classroom teaching experience.
• Foundational knowledge of district curricular standards and targets; State of Illinois learning standards; best practices in teaching; differentiated instruction; classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Classroom Supporter (Partner): co-teaches and models strategies for rigorous core instruction; co-plans units with teachers using backward design; observes and provides feedback focused on student achievement; conducts reflective conversations and identifies next steps.
• Instructional Specialist: supports teachers in implementing effective practices; leads district and building professional development; supports differentiated instruction.
• Data Coach: helps teachers use data and formative assessment to tailor instruction; understands state standards across grade levels.
• Learning Facilitator: plans and delivers professional learning integrated with day-to-day teaching; promotes collaboration and schoolwide efficacy.
