Job summary

The Leona Group in Detroit is seeking an instructional coach to assist the School Leader in improving instructional quality at the classroom and student levels.

You will coach teachers, deliver feedback, share best practices, and provide resources while using data to inform assessment and professional learning communities.

Qualifications

• Current teaching certificate/license and 3–5 years of teaching experience.
• Experience as lead teacher, instructional coach, or similar role.
• Ability to observe and provide constructive feedback.
• Ability to map and align curriculum with standards.
• Knowledge of disaggregating student data for instructional planning.
• Experience using diagnostic tools and formative assessments.
• Ability to build positive relationships with the principal and staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop instructional goals with teacher collaboration and professional development.
• Guide and support teachers in planning and delivering high-quality instruction, with feedback.
• Share resources and best practices to improve teacher effectiveness.
• Provide timely feedback and monitor teaching and learning in classrooms.
• Coordinate with School Leader to plan faculty collaboration and PLCs.
• Research instructional resources to benefit classrooms.
• Advocate for students to ensure quality education.
