Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Instructional Coach to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. This long-term substitute position runs from 2026-10-01 to 2026-12-31 and starts at per diem pay. Responsibilities include demonstration classes, co-teaching, and in-class coaching.

Reports to: Principal/Head of School. The role supports assessments, data analysis, and ongoing professional development in collaboration with school leaders.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Massachusetts Teaching License in appropriate content area.
• Experience and demonstrated expertise as a teacher of relevant content and/or subjects.
• Proven success as a professional development provider, team leader, and/or facilitator.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Current authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Set up effective classroom environments and assist in planning lessons.
• Conduct and debrief demonstration classes; co-teach occasional classes.
• Provide in-class coaching, videotaping, and debriefing lessons.
• Assist in planning school-based professional development.
• Maintain logs of activities, outcomes, and timelines.
• Monitor teacher progress and participation in PD.
