Job summary

Amber Charter Schools seeks an experienced Instructional Coach to lead professional development and guide our instructional team. You will design, facilitate, and sustain meaningful PD that translates into classroom success and equity for multilingual learners and students with IEPs.

You will collaborate with school leadership to align curriculum, assessments, and instruction, while modeling effective coaching practices and fostering a growth mindset.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in education or related field.
• 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience.
• 1 year of instructional coaching or consulting.
• Deep understanding of NYS learning standards for elementary grades.
• Familiarity with high-quality ELA, math, science, and social studies curricula.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Proven ability to design, deliver, and evaluate professional development.
• Strong instructional modeling skills and comfort leading adult learners.
• Knowledge of adult learning theory and coaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Visit classrooms regularly and coach teachers with timely, actionable feedback.
• Guide educators in standards-aligned lessons for deep learning.
• Analyze student work with teachers to adjust instruction and deepen impact.
• Support differentiation and inclusive practices for all learners.
• Review data to inform instructional and professional development plans.
• Identify learning needs and curate internal and external PD experiences.
• Lead data-driven conversations and planning with teachers and leadership.
• Plan peer observation cycles and reflection opportunities.
• Empower teacher-leaders to share expertise and shape school-wide impact.
• Serve on instructional leadership, recruit and onboard new staff.
• Support family engagement, and student showcases; participate in events.
