Center City Public Charter Schools is seeking an Instructional Assistant-Special Education for Kindergarten at the Shaw Campus. You will support a resource classroom and aid the lead teacher with instructional materials and IEP-driven interventions.

The ideal candidate has experience in education and a comfort with technology, able to lift 10 pounds and stand long hours, and is committed to Center City's mission and student success.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in education (preferred).
• Have general technology capacity.
• References that reflect a high standing with past employers.
• Able to lift 10 pounds and able to stand for long hours.

Responsabilités

• Assist the lead teacher in designing and preparing instructional materials and implementing daily lessons that engage all learners and address both grade-level standards and IEP goals.
• Assist the lead teacher in conducting and organizing ongoing assessments of student performance; collect data on student progress.
• Implement scripted interventions as determined by student needs.
• Assist the lead teacher in implementing academic, social, or behavioral interventions and accommodations as outlined in IEPs and classroom rules.
• Monitor students in the classroom, hallways, at recess, on field trips, and during other school-related activities.
• Participate in relevant training as necessary to support students in the classroom and to implement designated instructional programs.
• Engage parents and families in their child’s academic success by fostering an ongoing relationship centered around hopes and dreams.
• Engage in regular team meetings with the lead teacher, special education coordinator, and related service providers to discuss student progress and needs

Reports to: Campus Principal

Location: Shaw Campus

Team: Special Education

Center City PCS is looking for a self-directed, collaborative Instructional Assistant to support a special education resource classroom. This individual will support the lead special education teacher in a resource classroom for a small group of students with disabilities. We are looking for someone who believes in Center City's mission and values and will strive to provide the highest-quality programming to the students they serve. The ideal candidate has worked in a similar capacity and has experience working with children with IEPs.
