Job summary

Center City Public Charter Schools in Washington, DC seeks a Special Education Coordinator to ensure compliant, data-driven delivery of services across six campuses, aligning with IDEA, NCLB, OSSE policies.

The SEC reports to the Director of Student Support Services, oversees MDT meetings, maintains IEP timelines, and supports Special Education staff to ensure high-quality education for students with disabilities across the network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field; Master’s preferred.
• At least four years of special education teaching experience.
• Experience with IDEA, NCLB, OSSE guidelines and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate delivery of special education services across campuses.
• Monitor timelines, assessments, IEP development and renewals according to federal, state, and CCPCS policies.
• Support Special Education Teachers and Case Managers for annual and triennial meetings.
• Establish procedures for MDT meetings and data collection in CCPCS systems.
• Schedule meeting participants and liaise with campus leaders and stakeholders.
• Ensure IEPs and Progress Reports are accurate and compliant with CCPCS guidelines.
• Provide training and technical assistance to staff on special education mandates.
• Conduct targeted observations and provide feedback to teachers.
