Job summary

Pima JTED is seeking a part-time as-needed staff member to supervise high school Culinary Arts classes and support the teacher with lesson planning. The role involves organizing facilities, preparing materials, and implementing daily activities while maintaining a safe, productive classroom environment.

Job description

Term of Employment: Part-time as needed / Up to 19.5 hours per week / Not benefits eligible

Salary Range: $15.45 - $16.50 per hour DOE

Hours: Work hours may include some evenings

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Supervises high school students enrolled in the Culinary Arts classes
  • Offers suggestions in the planning and writing of lesson plans to the teacher
  • Organizes facilities, including equipment and supplies, and prepares materials for daily activities
  • Implements lesson plans as directed by the teacher
  • Provides information to parents regarding classroom procedures, activities, and curriculum
  • Utilizes and implements classroom management techniques to maintain organization, student safety and a productive learning environment at all times
  • Maintains confidentiality of student information
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications/Education And/or Experience
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or GED and; An Associate's Degree or higher or; Passing score on a skills assessment
  • Minimum one year of experience working with high school students in a formal school setting
  • ServSafe Certificate or be able to obtain one
  • Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps
  • Organized and able to perform duties in a timely and efficient manner
  • Proof of MMR immunization required unless born prior to January 1, 1957
  • Valid IVP fingerprint clearance card or be able to obtain one
  • Negative TB test within the last year
  • Valid Arizona Drivers License

  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work well independently or in a group setting
  • Ability to operate a high volume copy machine and various office equipment
  • Utilizes sound judgement and decision-making skills
  • Ability to multi-task
