Lake Washington School District's Kirk Elementary is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support teaching staff and maintain an orderly classroom, contributing to a positive learning environment.

Assignments may include classroom, library, lunchroom, before/after school programs, or office duties; elementary duties may include crossing guard and playground supervision; prior experience in school support preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Must hold an Associate degree (AA) or higher OR have completed two years of study equivalent to 72 college quarter credit hours OR have passed an Educational Testing Service ParaPro Assessment documenting a score of 455 or higher, OR have passed the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment with a score of 220 or higher.
• Official documentation will be required upon hire.
• Must pass criminal background check.

This position is posted in accordance with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Collective Bargaining Agreement transfer process outlined in Section 15.9 The position will be posted internally for five (5) workdays. The internal posting will close on Thursday, August 20th, 2026. Interested employees must submit an Internal Application. To be eligible for transfer, employees must meet the posted qualifications and have been in their current position for at least six (6) months. Qualified applicants will be contacted directly.
