Lake Washington School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support Smith Elementary staff and contribute to a positive learning environment. Responsibilities include classroom support, lunch supervision, and program assistance.

Looking for an instructional assistant to join the Smith Elementary community. Work responsibility included lunch cashier and other student supports.

Hours Per Day: 3.5

Shift: 11:15am -2:45pm Shift subject to change.

Location: Smith Elementary (part of the Eastlake Learning Community)

Hourly Rate: $27.71/an hour (SC11SEIU26-27.pdf ) Position is eligible for membership in the Service International Employees Union No. 925

This position is posted in accordance with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Collective Bargaining Agreement transfer process outlined in Section 15.9 The position will be posted internally and externally for five (5) workdays. The internal posting will close on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026. Interested employees must submit an Internal Application. To be eligible for transfer, employees must meet the posted qualifications and have been in their current position for at least six (6) months. Qualified applicants will be contacted directly. If no internal candidates are selected for transfer, the position will be posted for one (1) week to consider both internal and external applicants.

Job Summary

May be assigned to an individual student or work with entire classroom.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent. Must hold an Associate degree (AA) or higher OR have completed two years of study equivalent to 72 college quarter credit hours, OR have passed an Educational Testing Service ParaPro Assessment documenting a score of 455 or higher, OR have passed the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment with a score of 220 or higher. Official documentation will be required upon hire.
