Job summary

Spring-Ford Area School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support students in Autistic Support at the 10-12th Grade Center. The role includes helping with remedial work, independent studies, and enrichment activities.

Experience with students with special needs is preferred; if not, candidates may qualify by meeting the Highly Qualified Paraprofessional requirements (Associate’s degree or 48 credits or passed local assessment).

Responsibilities

Full time 10-month position available at Spring-Ford 10-12th Grade Center. This position will be in Autistic Support.

  • Experience working with students with special needs is preferred but not required.
  • Must meet the Paraprofessional Highly Qualified Requirements: All individuals entering the paraprofessional field are required to be Highly Qualified. Individuals are required to hold an Associate's degree or higher, or have earned at least 48 credits post-secondary training or have passed a rigorous local assessment in reading, writing and mathematics.

Spring-Ford Area School District offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision and prescription insurance, as well as paid time off and a tuition reimbursement program. Pathways to becoming a special education teacher are available through a partnership with Point Park University for the ABCTE program. This position is part of the PSERS retirement system.

Hourly Rate: $20.50/hour

Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Days/Year: 185
